    J. Andrew Woodruff has been in the construction and real estate industries for over 30 years.  He grew up in Michigan where, after achieving his BA in English Literature at the University of Colorado – Boulder, he went to work for his father as a mechanical contractor.  After working in the field for 3 years (designing and installing heating and air conditioning units) and becoming a fully licensed mechanical contractor, he was promoted to Vice President.  In only 5 years he increased the number of his team from 5 to over 30, and increased revenue from $200,000 per year to $3,600,000.  When he took over the position 25% of the clients were making complaints.  At the end of 5 years he lowered this to a less than 1% complaint rate.

    It was time for new challenge.  He moved back to Colorado and went to work for Coldwell Banker Cherry Creek, at the time the highest grossing office in the state.  After 3 years he started up Woodruff Real Estate and Development, LLC.  Like so many other 2009 changed his life.  He had just finished renovating a 3,300 sq ft house in Uptown.  Its value dropped by 40% overnight.  No real estate was selling, he was close to bankruptcy, couldn’t pay his mortgage, and was heading for foreclosure.

    He had an idea.  Why not rent it out and move somewhere much cheaper?  Even if the tenants didn’t pay the entire mortgage he could still get by, build up some equity, and still keep his word to the bank.

    And Woodruff Real Estate and Property Management was born.  Something new.  Something different.  Something better.  The first paperless property management company in the country specifically targeting high-end homes that couldn’t sell.  Now he is renting high-end homes as cash-flowing investment properties for his clients.

    He opened in Naples Florida in 2013 and Kalamazoo Michigan in 2015.
